Barb Schmidt

Barb Schmidt—known to millions as Peaceful Barb—is a globally recognized mindfulness
teacher, bestselling author, and speaker dedicated to helping people cultivate inner peace
and resilience. With more than 40 years of devoted practice, Barb has touched millions
worldwide through her teachings, workshops, and digital content.


In 2011, she co-founded Peaceful Mind Peaceful Life® with her daughter, Michelle Maros,
to share accessible tools for mindfulness, self-care, and emotional well-being. Today, their
content reaches more than 60 million people globally, and together they co-host the beloved
podcast Life Happens with Barb & Michelle.

Barb is the author of the bestselling book The Practice: Simple Tools for Managing Stress,Finding Inner Peace, and Uncovering Happiness, a guide that has inspired readers to find
calm and clarity in everyday life. She has led transformative workshops at universities
nationwide, with a special focus on supporting student-athletes, and co-founded the Health
First Initiative at FAU’s Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine. She also co-founder
alongside her daughter Michelle the Barb Schmidt Fellowship Program that mentors
students in compassion, leadership, and social change.
